The opportunity to take Dr Stu's Reteach Breech Training was very spur of the moment. A midwife mentioned there were a couple of spaces available if anyone was interested. I was. Why? Well, that's a good question. For one thing, in the previous year, I'd had two clients who had babies that were head down shortly before labor but during labor we discovered that they were bum down. Even though Idaho rules and regulations don't allow for midwives to deliver breech babies, sometimes it is safer to deliver where mom is than to transport and I felt that it is important to be as prepared as possible if it happens at some time in the future. I am very glad that I was able to attend and will happily attend again in the future to keep my breech skills up-to-date.

After a nine-year sojourn on the east coast, my three youngest children and I have returned to north Idaho. While there has been some grumbling, which is to be expected from a 16-year-old, it was a much needed change and has been mostly good so far. It was especially nice yesterday to visit the library to find that many of the faces are the same and that we were remembered!
If you, or anyone you know, is pregnant and live Coeur d'Alene north in Idaho, check out proper doula services! |
